Since the historic Operation Linda Nchi in 2011, when KDF soldiers crossed into Somalia to combat the Al-Shabaab militia, they have continued to demonstrate bravery in the harshest of conditions. Their relentless fight against terrorism, particularly in volatile regions like Somalia, has not only safeguarded Kenya but has also contributed to regional stability and peace. Each soldier deployed represents the best of us — unyielding in spirit, courageous in battle, and dedicated to the mission.

Mazingira Day, a public holiday previously called Moi Day and later Utamaduni Day had its debut celebrations on 10th October, 2024 in various counties. This first Holiday of the month of October, had been in the process of rebranding and has recently had changes being effected after His Excellency the President William Ruto assented to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill.
